Meet the Doctor

Born and raised on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Dr. Mara Davidson’s first career focus and passion was film making.  During her freshman year at Drexel University while pursuing an undergraduate degree in Film and Video, an interest in the medical field began.  After returning home from the Cannes Film Festival and completing an internship at NFL Films, Dr. Davidson decided to devote herself to the study of medicine.  She graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree, Magna cum Laude with an Honors distinction, from Drexel University, then entered the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program at Drexel’s College of Medicine.

Once ready to enroll in medical school Dr. Davidson selected to attend a university in the Cayman Islands for its fast-paced, accelerated learning structure.  Enrolling there enabled her to double-major as not only a medical student but an MBA candidate.  However, the conventional medical approach that was taught did not match Dr. Davidson’s belief regarding patient care.  Believing that a whole-body approach to healthcare was possible to learn in medicine, Dr. Davidson began searching for alternative forms of medical practice.  She discovered Naturopathic Medicine and found this to be her true calling.  While earning her MBA, Dr. Davidson applied to the University of Bridgeport, College of Naturopathic Medicine in Bridgeport, CT.  In the middle of her second year Dr. Davidson completed her MBA in Health Care Management with the equivalent of Magna cum Laude standing.

Upon entering her clinical training Dr. Davidson began preceptoring with many naturopathic physicians and clinics along the east coast, including the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia, PA.  During the second half of medical school Dr. Davidson decided to increase her Naturopathic arsenal by enrolling in the University of Bridgeport’s Nutrition Institute in order to earn a Master of Science in Human Nutrition.  Dr. Davidson earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree, cum Laude, in May 2014, then completed the Master of Science in Human Nutrition degree, Summa cum Laude, in December of the same year.

Dr. Davidson currently lives in Fairfield County, Connecticut.  In her free time she enjoys movies, sports, theatre, and spending time with her family and friends.
